Open-air Museum
What was the life like in a village in the times of our great-grandmothers? In the Vogtland Open-air Museum Landwüst the visitor receives a glimpse this past. About 12 000 articles give an insight into the way of life and work of the Vogtland inhabitants in the time from the beginning of the 19th century up to the first half of the 20th century. Workshops of the typical handcrafts of the villages are originally equipped and partly functioning. They tell about the essential work of the farmers. Farmed fields, flowering gardens and some animals of old races perfect the picture of the former structure of the regional villages. Opening hours: Tuesday - Sunday and Holidays 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. apart from opening hours on agreement We serve snacks and drinks in our small restaurant "Einkehrstube".
