Framus Museum
The Framus Museum was opened to the public in July 2007. It offers visitors a travel in time through the history of the legendary guitar brand. John Lennon and Elvis had one, ex Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman as well as Peter Kraus. They all played a Framus guitar and made the German brand famous worldwide.
As a precursor of industrial guitar production, Framus made history in the European musical instrument manufacture. The brand with its symbol of a violin in front of a globe was responsible for numerous technical innovations and developments that are displayed at the museum. Three floors of a renovated Wilhelminian-style villa from the year 1898 are home to more than 200 exhibits from violins to electric basses, all of which illustrates the development of various music styles after World War II.
