Bismarck Tower On the "Oberer Berg" in Markneukirchen there is the oldest Bismarck-tower of Saxony. It was built in 1900 and you can visit the look-out daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. It is 14 m high and has 58 steps inside.
protestant church St. Nicolai The church St. Nicolai is situated in the centre of the town on the market place. It was ordained in 1848 and inside you find the one and only Schulze-Organ of Saxony. Concerts take place regularly. Places of excursions in the surrounding area: Adorf/Vogtland The indoor and outdoor swimming pool "Waldbad Adorf" offers water fun. From spring to autumn the "Little Vogtland" displays detailed miniature models. These displays feature exact replicas of famous buildings of our region. Next to the "Little Vogtland" there is a botanical garden. Bad Elster and Bad Brambach The Saxon Spas Bad Elster and Bad Brambach invite you to relax. They offer classical cures as well as modern wellness and a wide range of cultural events. Erlbach In the neighbouring village Erlbach, you can cross-country and downhill ski. Klingenthal The neighbouring music town Klingenthal is also well-known as a centre of winter sports. Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz In the birthplace of the first German cosmonaut Dr. Sigmund Jähn, you find the Exhibition of German Astronauts - well worth seeing! Schöneck Because of its beautiful look-out, Schöneck is called "the balcony of Vogtland". In winter it offers the ideal conditions for winter sports.
